Post-Op: Day Two
Apologies for not posting yesterday. The pain was just horrible. I spent most of the day crying and trying to get comfortable. I'd find a place, finally get comfortable, then the pain would remind me that I'm not in charge. Another reason that I was so uncomfortable is due to being severely constipated. Pain meds will do that. I am not counting this as an InterStim success; in that I have not gone yet. So, I'm adding another med to my collection: Colace. As of this morning, it still has not worked.
But that being said, I finally found a comfortable position around 2am. And sleep came and blissfully enveloped me into a lovely, warm, sleep. I slept until 7am, without waking up to pee.
Did you read that? You don't get it, do you?
I did not have to pee. At all. So what did I do? I went back to sleep until 9am. Then I did have to pee.
Okay, what you don't understand, my friends, is that before the InterStim was put in, I would have to get up 6-7 times a night to pee. So, this is SUCCESS! This is also why I can't wait to poop... without being constipated. Sorry for the frankness.
It's snowing outside. Light and lovely. Tomorrow, I go in to have my dressings changed. The area where my wires are exiting my butt are itching like mad. I'll get some benadryl.
Pain level at this writing: 5! This is great, but also dangerous for me. That false sense of security - with a lovely low pain level - makes me want to do things. This time, I know I can't. If I didn't have wires sticking out of my butt, I'd vacuum my bedroom. I know better. Dust bunnies are safe.
Peace,
